Build a Car With Your Kid · Chapter 10

Test C2: connect the phone to the car

The video

The screen recording on both phones isn’t filmed yet. It’s on its way, and it will go on this page: the QR in your book stays the same.

Until then, the short version from Chapter 10. The two modules connect differently:

  • HM-10: open the remote page in Chrome on Android, or in the Bluefy browser on an iPhone (not Safari). Tap Connect, allow Bluetooth or nearby devices if the phone asks, and choose the module. Never pair it in the phone’s Bluetooth settings.
  • HC-06 (Android only): pair it in the phone’s Bluetooth settings first, with the code 1234, then connect from the free Serial Bluetooth Terminal app.

Either way, the module’s light goes steady once it’s connected. The full steps, C11 to C13 for each module, are on the Stage C test page, with the fix for “no devices found”.
